awful start to the day

my day started off with 2 of the buses that I needed to get not showing up. This made me late for a meeting with the benefits people. Here in the uk it’s not good as they can sanction for non attendance and deduct money. I finally got a different bus which was going to get me to my appointment 30 minutes late. By this point I was having a panic attack and my anxiety was immense. Even though the benefits people called me and said everything was okay and they would mark me as attended I am really struggling to lower my anxiety.

I have written a formal complaint to the bus company because of the stress that this has caused me.

That does sound bad. But don't worry, it turned out fine. You just need to tell yourself now nothing bad happened. And I am sure you'll do great now.

I believe it's not because of what happened today, but the accumulated consequence of the past events. So just do deep breathing exercise for now, to stop the effect, I could recommend you the technique but I don't know your age or medical history. So just take deep breaths, wait and exhale. Do this multiple times slowly. Very slowly. I am there, don't worry.

Thank you, I am going to try meditation and hopefully it will pass.

The main problem I have is that I absolutely hate being late for anything. I am always 20 to 30 minutes early for everything that I do.

It will. I can understand and it wasn't your fault of course. So it will be okay.
