Some days are good and some days are bad. I am not a quitter and will keep on keeping on. My psychologist tells me there will be more tx’s available besides meds There are alot of antidepressants available now so all of you hang on. We are here for each other because we truely understand when one of us needs our support.

I’m sorry to hear that you don’t think medicines are helping you, but I love your “keeping on” attitude. I’m trying to do that myself. Out of curiosity, do you incorporate low impact cardio, gentle yoga, and/or meditation? They help me… Also, any other non-medication suggestions?

I have a balance problem, but I will see if my town offers gentle yoga. I also got a DVD for exercises for seniors. Thanks for your advice.

Also, keep an eye out for chair yoga and restorative yoga. Both will keep you in safe positions.

I like your message just don't give up. I've tried seven or eight meds this year that I never tried before. And I'd like to do the new Saints TMS when it's available here and ketamine.

I tried Trans Cranial Direct Current and it helped for a long time but it stopped helping. I will look into TMS but I don’t think my insurance will cover it. Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Mauv, I had great success with TMS. Had 3 rounds and it literally saved my life at one point. The results of the first two each lasted about 6 months and the 3rd is still working great after a year and a half. I became treatment resistant to meds after decades on them as well, am in my late 60's. Mine was covered by my Medicare. Call your insurance company to find out what they cover and tell them how you're feeling too.

You might talk to your psychologist about doing a psychopharmacological test that uses your dna to determine which meds are best suited for you genetically, mine was from Genesight and paid for by my insurance. I think medicare also covers it. I had tried a half dozen different antidepressants without success and the test showed that none of those were right for me, I started on one it recommended and it has worked well.
