Prozac symptoms

Ive been on 30mg of prozac for a few months now and Im wondering if anyone else who has taken it also get extremely drowsy? My doctor said it would go away after a couple months but every time i take it I just want to sleep for the rest of the day.

I was on them for 11dsys my head was so bad full of pain every day so I had. To stop them all side effects do go after a while as I have been on most of the tables Ihad my anxiety for 17 yrs

I have taken Prozac on and off for many years. I now currently take the generic Fluoxetine. I do have success with this medication for my depression and haven't noticed feeling tired or sleepy when taking it. There is a warning on the Rx label warning of possible dizziness and I have noticed/experienced that occasionally. Good luck finding a medication that helps you.

I take it for one week a month for PMDD. I find myself negotiating on whether to take it so my mood is OK before my period or not take it to avoid feeling nauseous and sleepy. Given it has been a few months, I would maybe try another med if your doctor is willing to talk through it with you. For some reason SSRI's have always made me feel off. I have done better on older medications like Remeron and Pamelor. I know it's hard during a trial period getting to the right meds. I think you've given it enough time to know!
