Hi Ladytrue, Waiting for some change in our lives is probably the hardest
thing to do when we wish it so badly. But with everything in life there is that
period of uncomfortableness before things change.
I'd like to address your last two posts regarding Lexapro (which I am on).
After I was weaned off Ativan, I was placed on Lexapro while in-patient.
This did help me because I was working on myself as the medication was
working on my brain. It did take between 4-6 weeks to reach full efficacy.
I took naps at the hospital when I had to but mostly pushed myself to attend
group meetings in the afternoon.
Once I was home I continued to feel better slowly but efficiently. It takes time
for the brain to make that turnaround in not just being put into a calming state
through benzos.
Lexapro has made me feel alive once more. Not hyper, not sleepy just alive.
Please work with your counselor and be patient. It took a long time for us to
get like this. There may not be a magic pill but whatever you are put on can
just be the "key" in feeling better. Keep writing us for support. Don't give up hope.
This may be the best way forward for you in the long run. Good Luck xx
It may be a temporary side effect that should improve over the next week or two…these effects should lessen and finally disappear….with you feeling much better.
If you are still feeling the same after a few weeks please refer yourself back to your doctor.
