anxiety feelings
Your emotions can feel very physical and cause symptoms that don't feel good.
do you suffer? Do you have any advice to help with this?
Yes I have a horrible feeling in my chest when I'm really struggling. It feels really tight and it burns. Its hard to talk and I have shortness of breath. Sometimes my neck feels tight too and I gag. Try to distract yourself with whatever works. Maybe reading, watching something, talking, journaling. It's definitely really hard.
do you take anything? I’m on a beta blocker, it’s making me anxious being on it too, also My sats keep dropping at times not sure if it’s beta blocker related or anxiety, I did try go come off beta blocker and made anxiety worse as heart was racing and chest pain worse
I take zoloft and atarax as needed. It worked really well for a few months but now its not.
how long have you suffered? Doctors don’t seem to understand I’m finding and I can see I’m starting to do there head in going back etc, I’m currently sat in a+e cus my sats keep dropping
it’s horrible isn’t it, I hope your feeling abit better soon, what are you anxious for? I think mine is my health, so health anxiety I think and feeling all these body sensations trigger it off
Hi, yes, anxiety creates tons of physical symptoms unfortunately! I’ve been having anxiety (and some panic attacks) for at least 20 years. The physical stuff comes and goes. The biggest things for me are racing heart and fatigue. I took beta blockers at one point and that helped, but after 4-5 years I had to stop because it was dropping my blood pressure too much. I’m not sure when you say your ‘sats’ are dropping, what that refers to?
I’m trying to do more breathing regulation to help with the anxiety.
But yeah, it’s hard when none of my friends have to deal with this.
how did you find coming off beta blockers? Which one was you on?
I was on atenolol- it was no problem coming off of them. It’s too bad that you are experiencing anxiety with them- they definitely kept my heart from racing so my anxiety was down. Maybe you could just try a lower dose, or a different beta-blocker.
