I’ve suffered with anxiety pretty much all my life it is now getting unbearable, I ask myself will it ever get better, I try so hard to be the go to person for everyone and I think it has taken its toll on me mentally and physically, constantly overthinking there is something more wrong with me thinking this will never get better and I’m gonna suffer the rest of my life, I feel helpless and alone and don’t know how to bring myself out of this black hole I’m stuck in I used to be so independent and confident and now I’ve lost all that I have no self esteem left and no energy to do things I once I enjoyed, will it ever end is there hope or light at the end of the tunnel, I just started taking Zoloft I do not like taking medication but praying to get some relief ajd that it actually helps me

Welcome home Overthinker44 :) Let me tell you that you just took the first steps

in going forward by coming on this site as well as starting Zoloft. We don't always

like resorting to medication but if the alternative of not using anything hasn't worked,

it might be just what you need. It can help break the cycle of fear allowing you to work

on the issues causing your problems. The fact that your mother had it makes me believe

that you learned from what you saw each day. Our younger years are a teachable

experience. Our minds are open to what is around us. You can't blame your mother,

it had to be so difficult for her to struggle with mental health.

No one in my family suffered from any mental health issues and yet I struggled with

Anxiety and Agoraphobia in my 20's. I always knew that I would be able to get my

life back in control and I did. So as to if there is a light at the end of the tunnel,

for me there was. Never give up. While starting on your medication, it would be great

to start therapy if you could in order to address the issues causing your anxiety.

Getting to the root of the problem can help you climb out of that dark hole you're in.

Being on this virtual community of friends can help support you as well. We may not be

doctors, but it's sure nice to know we are not alone and we feel your pain. I'm happy you are

here with us. Reach out anytime. We care :) xx

I'm sorry it's been tough. I also sometimes feel not only get emotional sick but physically ill, I start having sensations I don't understand, I mean I know part of it is me panicking but because of my panicking, my stomach starts to hurt, I get light headed at times my legs get numb I have to take a second and breath and calm, which is not easy to do in 2 seconds, it could take up to 3 hours for me to calm down, feeling sick symptoms all because I'm overthinking way too much I make my self sick. I get it. I don't have the answers to solve I just try different things like listening to calming music or focus on deep breathing excises and try not to think about anything by staring at something random like a I don't know a flower vase and clear my mind focus on the vase and breath. It may sound silly and sometimes it may not work but when I'm panicking, I'll try any healthy method to calm myself down. I hope I helped. I'm just sharing my experiences with overthinking. I pray you feel better!

Dennis Simsek the anxiety guy on YouTube is my favorite anxiety teacher.

This was one of his daily posts from last week. His Inner Child work was what hooked me. I've been following him for the past year and he's helped me tremendously in understanding the nature of anxiety and why I do what I do. Check it out. You've got nothing to lose 😜🙃

I can completely relate to your story. I went through the same process. I am currently in it, but further along. I took Zoloft, & it is an amazing medication. Very helpful. I realized that the fear of going outside and doing anything came from fear of falling due to my fall, as well as being bothered by people from my past. My depression started as a teen & got worse through the years. Finding coping options along with medication saves me. Do you listen to audio books? I listen to motivational videos from Eddie Pinero, Eric Thomas, & if you believe in God, podcasts on Youtube. They are incredibly helpful. I would love to help you in any way that I can. You can get there. You rock!
