Side effects of antidepressants

Can the side effects last for a long time - like 4 weeks. When does the antidepressant actually start to work and do the side effects disappear?

it took awhile for me to notice a difference. What side effects are you having? If they continue please contact your doctor. It might not be the right medication for you. There are plenty of other options.

It can take 4-6 weeks to reach full efficacy. If the dosage has been increased

during that time, add another week. Please work with your doctor for the

best benefit. xx

It depends on the person but some side effects don't ever disappear, so if they are dealbreakers let your doctor know so they can try something different. As for how long until you feel the benefits, that depends on the medicine, but it can take up to 6 weeks in most cases - and months for the full benefit.
