What do you do if you feel like you’re headed for a nervous breakdown? Not suicidal just feeling less and less mentally functional everyday? Physical symptoms like diarrhea, gagging, rash, TMj,and C I’ve been having anxiety attacks and crying jags almost every day. I just don’t know what to do anymore

I wonder if there might be a vitamin deficiency going on? When I feel the same, I take a hot shower or bath. If that doesn't work, I try a nap to reset my hard drive.

I also try to remember I am in an adult body and I have adult resources.

What do you mean by your last sentence?

Sometimes old trauma causes us to have flashbacks of feeling like a kid. Powerless, afraid, and out of control. I try to remember I am a grown up now.

That makes so much sense. Thank you for taking the time to answer. I can totally relate to what you mean.

Hi

Most of my work has been done through IFS therapy.

I do use a meditation site that is very helpful. Insight Timer has many teachers that talk on the subject. If you search inner child or childhood trauma you will find things to listen to. The talks are great and helped me so much with getting in touch.

Catherine Leggit is one of the teachers. She talks about her own childhood and does something called Shadow Work. I have listened to her talks over and over

I hope this helps. It's a process to get in touch and really understand how we " work" I will say this has been the most powerful healing work I have done

Yes, it's a great book. It talks about emotional flashbacks, which explains well why we shit down and can't function.IFS, Internal Family Systems is supposed to be very good. I do CBT.

Thank you!

What is TMj and C?

Are you asking because you feel that’s the way you are heading?

TMJ is a very painful jaw condition from grinding and clenching your teeth, c was just a typo. I am asking because I do feel like I could be headed that way- not suicidal just very very overwhelmed and it’s never been so bad before

I’m sorry you’re feeling that bad and thank you for explaining about what TMJ is? I

I really hope you’re not heading for another breakdown. When I think about my last breakdown I didn’t realise I was in the throes of it I just thought I was physically unwell.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older but I can’t always tell any more until afterwards. I’m not entirely sure I could tell with the earlier ones. The breakdowns were particularly hellish and I guess when I am well I try not to recall them too vividly

I wish I could be of more help DMM1188.

Take good care of yourself 🙃🤗🙃

Ginger candies are nice for nausea, and Emetrol syrup usually knocks out nausea pretty quickly for me. Remember to hydrate, especially if you're having diarrhea. If water isn't sounding good, you can get knock off brand Pedialyte at Dollar Tree for $1.25. I don't believe I have TMJ, but I do grind my teeth very hard when I sleep, and getting a mouth guard that was customizable to my mouth shape was super helpful. I got mine at Walgreens for about $20.

I feel like this (nervous breakdown) everyday specially in the mornings. If its too bad, Ativan is a good option. Natural ways will be to take Kava or do some physical exercise. Of course these are all bandaids. Not sure how to cure it completely. Anxiety has also cause me GI issues :( Hope you are well. Reach out as much as you need. Wishing you the best.
