Hello everyone. I am in a very anxious time right now as my husband is in the hospital with heart-related symptoms. He previously had 9 stents put in 17 years ago, as well as a triple bypass in 2020. He has what are called "silent MI's" (silent heart attacks) in that they don't show up on any non-invasive tests, they only show up on an angiogram. His kidney numbers have shot up since he has been in the hospital, and the angiogram is medically contraindicated as long as the numbers are up. They are giving him fluids to bring the kidney numbers down. Needless to say, I am pretty anxious. I took Lorazepam the past two nights to help me sleep, and took a small dose yesterday to calm my anxiety. I think the worst part of this is I have no idea where this is going to go. Fortunately, this time I can be with him at the hospital (the last time I couldn't due to Covid). Any suggestions to keep me from losing my mind!

entering an anxious time
My husband also had very serious heart problems, so I do understand what you are going through. It is a good thing you have the lorazepam, and subject to what your doctor says, I would not hesitate to use it. While I cannot say exactly what the outcome will be, I do know that amazing medical and surgical tools exist to help patients even with major heart issues.
My husband had a bypass, and then 10 years later had another heart surgery. ( Not CABG). The surgeon told us every day for the first 2 weeks that they did not know if he would make it through the night and they did not know if he had had a stroke, et. etc. He was in the ICU for over a month, but went on to make a full recovery and be on the golf course 5 months later.
Sometimes it is hard to get hold of doctors to ask them questions and find out more about how your husband is doing and what the next plans are. I would be pushy (but polite) about tracking them down and asking your questions. xx
sending peaceful healing vibes to you both(((((((
