Hello... need advice,experiences... im scheduled for rTMS starting next month for my anxiety. I have read its for depression but there are records of benefits for anxiety patients too. I have depression because of anxiety and not otherway around. Im confused 'coz when I asked dr. he said there are two different protocols n he'll use half half, obviously it didn't make any sense to me but...

Anyone tried this therapy or share anything abt it. Im also curious to know possible side effects , as I'm already having probs of Hemicrania n occipital neuralgia. Kindly share if u know about it.

It ll be great help. Thanx 🙏

I'll be going to my 11th session today. My depression is also a symptom of my anxiety. The way I understand it the treatment areas are different. The insurance is only paying for depression so they are mostly targeting my front right, the tapping sensation I get is on my right eyebrow. They do this for 15 minutes and then rest for 15. During the break in the last 4 sessions they have been stimulating the top lefthand side of my head for about a minute, the technician says this is for the anxiety, you may have a completely different treatment where they will be targeting your anxiety.

I have had no side effects other than my jaw shaking during treatment. After the session, I go out to my pick-up and start driving with no odd feelings, and my sleep has been normal.

I wish you luck and I really hope you feel what you are hoping for!

Not much of a change so far, but I'm optimistic from all of the research I have read online from many studies at renowned colleges and health organizations. More than 50% of people have still complete remission a year after treatment and an additional 30% after a second round of treatment. I like those odds :-)

I'm at 11 of 36 treatments, so it's not surprising to have no noticeable changes. And even if I am "Cured" I'm a realist. Nothing is going to change the real-world circumstances that caused my anxiety and depression, but I'm hoping I will be able to make better decisions and life changes to put me in a better place in life.

I did a round of TMS in 2020. It worked on my general mood. Depression and anxiety. I felt better. My daughter died a couple of months later and I think the treatments aided in my grief. I was thinking recently about asking my psychiatrist about another round. She recently took me off one of my meds, and I’m a little more depressed.

Good luck with your treatments, if you go through with them.

I've had 3 rounds for depression. It literally saved my life at one point. The benefits of the first two each lasted about 6 months each and the 3rd is still working after over a year. I've had many health issues this past year and if not for TMS I would have spiralled down by now. I had become treatment resistant to meds a few years ago after being on them for decades and my therapist recommended it. The only psych med I take now is an occasional Ativan for anxiety. Hope it works for you and please keep us posted!! Take care!
