I have been taking 10mg of Amitriptlyne for 10 days now and the fatigue the next day is debilitating. I feel like I’m not there. For example, going shopping in stores I feel out of it and want to go home.
Extreme fatigue usually comes over me (can get worse) around 1pm to 3pm and lasts hours.
I take 1 x 10mg at 7pm each evening I’m consistent going to bed and waking
can anyone advise on their experiences. Will fatigue go away should I continue taking and speak to my doctor or have I not given them long enough. Hear so much about 2 to 4 weeks and so on but please ?
Any advice I would be great full
Thanks

Thank you for your reply. I’ve actually cut a tablet in half tonight as I just want a bit of a better day tomorrow until I speak to my GP.
The tiredness is more a drunk tired. So debilitating. Can’t drive most of the time but keep pushing on with walks. Although I’m tired in the day I can’t sleep but can at night so odd!
I took it for pain related issues years ago, and like you, it gave me a dreadful hangover the next day, like I was drunk, is exactly how I'd describe it. Woozy during the day foggy, forgetful, and I gained weight like crazy too. I started sleeping a lot too. I was on other meds though too, gabapentin at a very high dose, which I think contributed to the extra drowsiness and weight gain. Like others have said, we're all different, but it did not work for my body chemistry. I was on it for about 6 months before I quit it completely. I hope you find something that does work w your body... ☮️
I’m also on Mitazapine and that is sedating in the night. I’m over the tiredness but new to taking amitriptlyne. I have to say it’s beyond tired throughout the day. It’s more drunk tiredness.
Thanks for the reply. It really helps knowing I’m not the only one.
I took it for a while many years ago and it made too hyper. It is an older medication and earlier generation drug and there are many newer ones that might offer you more relief.
I have taken amytriptilene for decades. I cut it in half because it causes nausea and dizziness. I guess it helps somewhat but am not sure how much. I still have plenty of depression and anxiety.
