How do you cope when you find out your friends turn on you when you Mistake

How do you cope when your friends turn on you after doing something accidentally stupid. That escalated up to the cop's being called. I was n Not arrested. I automatically got defensive instead of being sympathet I could have handled the situation better but my brain didn't do it. I was trying to be helpful as I had done in the past but the lady was grieving Instead I was being dis respectful Nobody is talking to me and I'm upset too . I am getting a lease violation and then Order to stay in my apartment and out of the common areas
