I’ve been suffering with anxiety since the age of 13, and I’m turning 25 this year. My anxiety got considerably worse during 2020 when I was diagnosed with IBS. I have suffered with debilitating panic attacks since then and over the last few months it’s got even more severe. I’m experiencing extreme panic episodes one after the other in the comfort of my own home. Due to this Ive been prescribed propananol for the physical symptoms and have been put on Duloextine for the GAD, Panic attacks & Low mood. I have noticed an increase in my anxiety since taking Duloxetine, with it being only 1 week since beginning treatment I wondered if anyone else has struggled with an increase in Anxiety symptoms whilst your body gets used to the new medication, and if it eventually goes away?

Hi dOnutt, whenever starting a new medication or an increase in dosage

there is that period of time that may cause an exaggeration of anxious symptoms.

As your body and brain adjust to the med, the symptoms will get less until you

start feeling the effects of a more positive you. Please give it a chance to work. :) xx
