Hi and welcome to this community! The only suggestion I have is to make sure you get all the food groups represented and drink plenty of water.
🤣🤣🤣You're welcome! See, this is exactly why I have reading glasses (and also exactly why I had said reading glasses on when typing that🙄. They are now on and it's a miracle!)
I suffer from a paralyzed stomach which requires a medication with nasty side effects. Like not reversible! So I am on 6 small meals (they say about the size of your fist) a day. I am not too active so I try to get in about 1500 calories. My biggest addition to my diet that has been great is taking a protein shake (I use plant based Orgain) and mixing it with all types of fruit in a blender. I am getting a ton of macro nutrients this way. Then as I progress I try to focus on protein. For me, I have huge anxiety about the bathroom and is a painful process so liquid and soft diet only. I will take the med to move my stomach if I do indulge ... and it does help. However, the best I felt in my life was on a fasting diet. I didn't need to lose weight really....I just was so busy I almost needed to schedule eating. This is about two years before I got sick. I only ate between 7pm and midnight. Was always trying to target 18 hours of fasting. After the initial shock to the system, it was really easy and I was able to eat what I wanted and not really change weight. With so little time to eat, you can't really go too far off the rails on bad food.
im not in fave of keto. I have read that there are short term reasons if recommended by a doctor. Gluten and excessive carbs and processed foods can cause brain fog. I would try significantly reducing or eliminating gluten. Reduce carbs and processed food (especially processed food). You need carbs but there is too much in most people’s diets. Eat more produce and whole foods. Reduce read meat to once a week. Start slowly as a complete switch is hard to adjust to.
I just finished reading the book “The Anti Anxiety Diet” by Ali Miller. It is pretty much low glycemic and keto (no dairy though). I’m going to give it a try. I recommend the book!
There is another good book you might check out, "The anti-anxiety food solution" by Trudy Scott that has good info on diet and supplements for depression and anxiety, it's available on amazon.
I suggest decreasing processed foods. Agree with Bluruth on this one. Check sodium also intake. Some pre-prepared foods have a ton of it. Also a well rounded diet, incorporate veggies of different kinds and fruit variety as well as balance in animal fat intake: not too much beef or chicken or fish but split the amount of each you intake.
