I’m looking to adjust my diet and trying to incorporate more anxiety reducing foods/drinks. What works for you all?

Nice work! What kind of tea do you drink? Green or others?

Eat healthy. Stop or at least cut back on fried foods, sugary foods, highly processed (lots of chemicals )foods. Things I eat that help me: greens ( good salad), baked poultry, orange juice, Kifer (liquid yogurt), pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate, avocados, liver wurst and some seafood (omega3). I take these supplements: omega, turmeric, magnesium, vitamin c, vitamins D3 and B complex. Hope this helps!Take care

Try red tea. It’s known to help with anxiety.

Switching to Decaff, no coffee on empty stomach and cutting out carbs and added sugar massively helped clear my brain fog. Helped me notice and observe my anxiety better, previously I felt completely succumbed to it.

Nice. Will try to cut out sugars too. Thanks for sharing.

I try to make one change at a time (not only food) and feel close to free from anxiety today. Food:-no alcohol, as only a glas of wine affected sleep

-close to elimination of sugar. Ok with a cake during weekend at social events

- min 15oz of greens every day

- reduced intake of carbs

- food supplements, right now omega, safron, ginkgo biloba

Will, opposite to above answers, try to add coffee…..! 😊

Thank you for sharing. Is the saffron a spice or pill form? Same with the ginkgo is that pill form supplement?

Both are pill form supplements.

By the way, tried ”vegetarianuary” but outcome was that ”15oz of greens per day” is better!

I used to have a lot of caffeine from Pepsi Max and other diet cola drinks. I thought because they were the zero sugar ones it would be fine (they are unlimited on things like Slimming World) but I was having a two litre bottle a day and my overall caffeine intake was through the roof. I switched to diet lemonade which has no caffeine, and always make sure I drink water first thing before I'm allowed any pop, and that's helped my anxiety and my sleep tremendously.

Good job! Yes, I steer clear of most sodas except for the ginger ale which helps my gut at times. I’m trying to uptake the water too! Thanks for sharing your tips!

Definitely would like to know about your breathing exercises etc. please do share with me. Thank you!

My experience is same as yours! It is the breathing, body scan relaxation meditations, mindfulness techniques that made the difference handling anxiety and stress. When starting with mindfulness self compassion training an effect was that I wanted to take better care of my body. To be kind to myself. 😊 That lead to focus on food and pulse exercise.

Anyhow anxiety is part of life! ”Just” befriend it….. !

There is a good book available you might check out: "The anti-anxiety food solution" by Trudy Scott, you should be able to find it on amazon. It has a lot of good information about diet and supplements for anxiety and depression.

It was when I stopped drinking alcohol that I really got my anxiety under control. It's ironic, I would drink hard liquor every evening to get relief from anxiety/panic, but it turned out that alcohol was a huge part of what was causing it. Apparently alcohol affects your brain in a way that can cause anxiety after its effects wear off.

Of course it is hard to quit drinking, but it's a lot easier when the reward is no anxiety the following day!

Nice work! I rarely have a drink because it causes me to feel sluggish! I’m so happy to hear you are doing good too. 🙏

I start my day with a shake. I use orgain protein powder, fresh spinach or kale, mushroom powder, and lots of berries mixed with almond milk. Try to eat salmon twice a week and lots of salad. An apple a day with almond butter and also some oranges help. I wish you good luck.

Sounds great! I’m thinking of trying the smoothies. I think I’d like them. Do you have a particular brand type of protein powder you recommend? I always have trouble deciding which to purchase. ❤️

The protein powder is called Orgain organic plant based protein powder. It has 21 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber and 0 grams of sugar. It comes in different flavors and makes the shake taste delicious. You can buy it in the Vitamin Shop. Give it a try and let me know how you are doing.
