This describes my oldest son completely. As his mom, maybe my opinion doesn’t count but I think he’s grown into a very wise man. Even as a child, he needed his alone time, especially right after school. After getting the time he needed, he would then be ready to play with others. He still needs his alone time though it’s harder to get it as a husband and father.

I’ve also always needed my alone time and that has made it easier to live by myself these past two years. I haven’t become the philosopher that he has though. He enjoys reading things that are thought provoking while I just want to read things that distract me from thinking and from pain.
