Before the holiday season I only used to go out once a week to go shopping always feeling anxious because of various health issues.
I visited my Sister over the Christmas period and was persuaded to go to the pub with her and her new partner, although feeling uneasy I did enjoy myself.
Since then I have had a bad chest infection which has taken 2 weeks of antibiotics and steriods which has left me feeling very weak and shaky.
My problem is that now because of this I am uneasy leaving the flat, I live on the fourth floor in a large block of flats and even the thought of going down 1 flight of stairs and along the walkway to take my rubbish to the chute fills me with anxiety.
I know that it will take time to get over the infection and fears, but it doesn't stop the feeling of being trapped at the moment.
Thank you for listening

If you’re still weak and shaky, managing stairs could be risky until you feel stronger. Ask a neighbor or friend to help you with small chores or shopping. When you start feeling stronger, try walking down a few steps and turn around and go back to test your stamina. Don’t push yourself unless you have someone to help you. I live alone and it’s a must to ask for help sometimes. 🍀
