increase in sertraline

l have recently increased sertraline 25mg to 50mg x waking up in sheer panic with adrenaline rushes. Is this to be expected and how long will these last? X

I was on it awhile ago ,50 mg got me out of a hole …think it works by getting you active and busy ,I used to feel like it too on mornings but it helped me to get to a job early shift …you’ll adjust in a couple of days and in a few weeks will be too busy getting on with stuff hopefully you won’t notice anything…best wishes

Were you fearful at all about going on a higher dose? I ask because the mind can be a powerful thing and the panic/adrenaline rushes could be a result of your body reacting to that fear. I've been on 50mg of Sertraline for a few years now and when I first went on it, my doctor said it's generally tolerated very well (few side effects). I only had "stomach issues" the first few days on it and no side effects ever since. The best thing to do is call your doctor and tell him/her what you're experiencing. Knowing your medical history, they can help talk you through what's happening and decide what's best for you. Best of luck and hang in there. Things WILL get better. >

It takes time for a change in meds to make an effect so it's probably your anxious thinking that is causing your increased anxiety. You are so hyper focused on the med change and any changes in your body that you blowing them out of proportion, so try to relax some and give the med increase time to make a difference and get on with your day.

I increased 50mg to 100mg about 5 weeks ago, I didn’t have any adverse affects. Being on the higher dose has definitely helped. 👍

But unfortunately I’m going to need to reduce again, I’m on a lot of meds for my RA, and taking the Sertraline has tipped my liver function over the edge. 😖

A few weeks, I started to feel less tearful. Waking up without that awful ‘dread’ having to face the day was great. 🙏

Luckily enough no. I was having palpitations through anxiety before I took them though, but they seem to have settled it down.

I’m on 100mg been on it for over a year it has helped me enormously, u should start to feel better soon I think it took me a few weeks to feel less anxious.

yea to be honest the side effects weren’t the best I felt nauseous a lot I think they lasted a few weeks but I’m glad I kept taking them

about a year ish ….basically tapered off yes kept forgetting to take it until i just stopped feeling the need to
