Sleep Cycle

Hi,

What’s everyone’s sleep routine like? I’ve tried almost everything to fall asleep - running, climbing, cbd, xanax, journaling, reading, yoga, socializing, etc. and end up staying up and worrying about not sleeping and feeling worse the next day.

I've tried alot of different things.

My sleep cycle is still not good . Idk exactly what to do about it .

I have been told "do this, do that , try this, try that" but nothing has ever helped me with sleeping

Hi Doves4 Actually, my sleep cycle is good ever since I got into Breathing

and Meditation before bed. The tape I listen to goes from Deep Relaxation to

Self Hypnosis then Imagery and Visulization. I never seem to get to the end of

the tape as I drift off within moments. I do go into a deep REM sleep which I

never did before when on benzos. A cool dark room, a comfortable pillow and

my tape is all I need, Oh..should problems of the day enter my mind, I just watch

them drift away. I hope you find the key to your sleep issue as there is nothing

like getting a regenerative rest. :) xx

I take time-release Melatonin about an hour before I go to bed. In bed, I fall asleep listening to an audiobook.

if you’re using electronics like a TV, computer, phone or tablet - you need to unplug about an hour before you try to go to bed maybe 2 hours before bed time. Try sleeping with a weighted blanket or a heated blanket (be sure to use a timer so that it’s not running all night )

One of the things to try is to resist worrying or trying to go to sleep because the worrying or having anxiety about it just makes it more difficult and harder to sleep. Accept that you may not sleep and know that your body will on it's own eventually. I've been amazed at how well I have done on little sleep for a number of days. The other thing is to do what you can to lower your cortisol, cut out caffeine and don't eat after dinner. I take melatonin, phosphatidyl serine and magnesium glycinate before bedtime. I also read a trashy novel and sometimes I use a tincture of valerian root.
