I m 45 plus male having constipation since teens. Used excessive enema now it is not working. Consulted gastrointestinal expert gave some medicine, it helps but largely it is psychological. I can't pass stool its like lump and results in anal fissures. Any suggestion who had similar experience

Chronic constipation and excessive use of enema
Have you looked for sites with other sufferers? I know there has been a rise due to the SAD diet. I assume you are incorporating proper foods ( and excluding things like processed and gluten) and exercise and drinking water already since this is a long term thing but that is my first thought. Didn’t you post about sexual dysfunction? I feel you may be in the wrong forum tbh. You’ll find lots of people with depression and anxiety here but not so many with those issues,
Yes there are much more appropriate forums than this. I wonder if he is getting his kicks out of posting this on a site where there are so many women?
Add more fiber to your diet.
Taking lactifiber everyday with out fail
I think I read added fiber isn’t necessary if you eat fibrous vegetables. You get so much more from them too.
That’s good. Eat lots of fruits and veggies too. Good luck 👍
linseeds Mohammad …Youlle be able to shit through the eye of a needle in no time
It may not b the best forum but at least i m able to talk and feel better here
prunes or prune juice maybe? Feel better
I recently went through cancer treatment and often dealt with constipation due to various meds. Had to drink lots of water. Oatmeal, apricots and prunes helped too. If that didn't work, I used a stool softener.
Please refer to another forum on HU for this problem.
I have horrible IBS my entire life. It was recently so bad that I had a rectal impaction! The doctor told me to start taking MiraLAX (I actually use the generic version) twice a day instead of once until things cleared, then down to once a day. You can use it daily and it is not addicting and does not mess up your system. I mix it in water, drink it down fast (it really doesn't have a taste, but there is a slight consistency to it) and it usually works within hours. You should definitely wean yourself off the enemas, as they mess up your system long term as you are seeing.
I m 58 and here is what I have found. After trying everything on the market. And nothing ever really helping. I found 2 things that help. They treat symptom not cause. But decreased my pain substantially and don't cost anything.
1st understanding where the back up is... if you do.you can Deep palpate that area briskly. Vibrating it will help things move along.
2nd With you butt glued to the toilet pivot you upper body in a circular motion and or forward and back. It’s the movement and muscle contraction that is changing and effectively massaging the intestine and colon helping reduce the stiction that is keeping it all in place and causing your discomfort or pain.
Way to o simple and it works. I have suffered from severe Ulcertiave colitis , IBD, IBS etc for 40 years . And non of what the doctors have given , recommended, described, prescribed has ever really helped. My illness is cyclical, sometimes its Constipation some times its Full on blow outs. Lately I have been severely constipated and movement is the only thing that helps. And it helps a lot. Good Luck.
Hello, i don't think there is any problem with you posting this here on this site if you think what you are dealing with is more psychological than physical. You might explain more why you think it.s psychological, what are your thoughts/beliefs, feelings around it, are you seeing a therapist, etc...
What you are going through is not pleasant but this is a forum for people suffering from depression, anxiety issues. We are not Health experts. You should continue Consulting with the physician. You could actually do yourself more harm myself medicating and self diagnosing. Good luck to you
