im freaking out!!

last night i was just chilling minding my own business when i look down at my knee and i see a patch or red dots on my knee, at first i tried not to freak out but when i looked on google it says so many scary things like petechiae and at first i thought it might be that but…i woke up this morning and it’s bumpy and raised (which isn’t a symptom of petechiae bc those are flat) red although it’s starting to go away, it doesn’t itch at or hurt at all. idk if my skin is just reacting to something or if i’m dying T^T i’m not experiencing any symptoms of anything else and i feel overall fine (other than the overwhelming anxiety im experiencing rn) but yea so now i’m freaking out, does anyone know what this may be or have gotten it before?

To me it looks like a contact rash. So something that your skin came in contact with that it didn’t like. Do you have any Hydrocortisone cream, or colloidal oatmeal lotion?

sometimes rash isn’t itchy

That's definitely a rash. Dry skin, or a reaction to something. I have freaked out so many times because of things like this, & i promise u, that's nothing to be concerned about. Ur body will heal itself. Wait until u start getting to ur 40's+ & see all the strange growths u will get... It's something u will have to get used to over time. I've had rashes worse than that MANY times, & they've always healed. Put some hydrocortisone on it, if it starts itching. Otherwise, just let it be. Ur body will often react to things u aren't even aware of, but it will go unnoticed. As u said, u happened to look at it. Other times, it will heal before u ever noticed it.

Edit: just asked my mom,,she said, she has something like that,in her elbow for her entire life (she's 70) that won't go away. It doesn't hurt or anything. So, even if it doesn't go away, u will be fine, i promise.

I have a history of eczema, and I know that my skin can become irritated or develop a rash or small bump. This is perfectly normal and a simple application of an over-the-counter cortisone ointment usually takes care of it. The advice given to you by other members is consistent with my thinking, but if the cortisone doesn't take care of it, you can see a dermatologist.

I would also be curious to know why this produced so much anxiety in you. There may be some underlying anxiety issues that you need to resolve through therapy or doing your own research on ways to relax and deal with anxiety. Meditation or deep breathing may be effective in helping you to reduce your anxiety.

Hives? Sporiasis? I have both. I think they are stress related.

It's probably just contact dermatitis.

In any case, most skin conditions clear up on their own in a matter of days or weeks.

Not what you're looking for?
