It's not advisable to stop a medication without consulting the doctor who prescribed it.I was so crazy on Celexa that my dr took me off it after one week. Fortunately we found something else without the severe side effects.

One way to get rid of pills is, if you know someone with a dog, to pour the pills into a bag that has some of the dog’s fecal droppings in it. That will keep anyone from using the medication and will also break it down quickly.

Yeah: that's the problem with medications we can't use. You know someone else probably could benefit from them, but it's illegal — and for good reasons — to share or even returns medications, but it feels terrible to waste them…

To echo emmi331 you really should talk to your doctor before stopping. Some side-effects eventually ease... they can advise a lower dosage if they feel it could be help ease you into the medication. They tired that with me before... unfortunately some meds have horrible side-effects for a bit... Please talk to your doctor.

Glad you did. Think most of us who have/are doing meds to help with our mental health have gone through a rough patch with them. Wish you luck with this one.

In many pharmacies and police stations there are drop boxes where you can deposit bottles of unused/outdated pills. Don't flush them or put them down the drain since they can get into water supplies.

I really won't trash them. I just wish i could get them into usage

I don't know if there's any place that would take them or not since the pills would probably have to be verified that what it says on the bottle is what's inside before anyone else could use them. I know it seems like a waste. I felt that way when I've gotten rid of unused meds. Ask your pharmacist maybe.
