Am I the only one who just doesn’t like the day of Thanksgiving or time around Thanksgiving? It seems to make me more anxious than anything! I’m not a huge food person so it might be because of that. Thoughts?

Thanksgiving
Yes, I have similar feelings. Around this time of year is when the weather gets lousy and it’s windy and cold and the sun doesn’t always come out. I believe I start to have trouble with seasonal affective disorder. And I don’t look forward to Christmas like I did when I was a kid. I just can’t afford to give too much in the way of presents to people. I don’t want to be broke in January. So I’m trying to have a better attitude but I don’t feel very grateful for much right now. I need to lose some weight so I don’t want to eat too much either.
I haven’t lived near family for 30 years. TG has always been a little annoying but Christmas is much worse because it is more a family only day. I used to like to cook more and so getting a small turkey on sale was good but for at least 6 years I have done something less traditional. Some examples are a morning hike or movie with a meetup group. Then brunch after. Some yoga studios will have a class. You’d be amazed how many do not spend all day doing turkey dinner. Then it feels more like a day off.
Well, wishing you a happy Thanksgiving anyway. I’m visiting some people I know later. We are having some roast beef, not turkey. Turkey can take forever to try to make.
