Help with depression

Hello everyone,It's my first time posting, nice to meet you all 🙂

I'm really struggling with depression and anxiety right now.

My mood is so low, I've lost my enthusiasm and joy in doing things, I feel so anxious that when I go out, I feel panicked and get all the awful symptoms of panic.

Has anyone got any good coping mechanisms for depression and anxiety?

I would be really grateful for some guidance?

hi welcome aboard support is key along with keeping active distraction techniques when we start to have bad feelings unwanted thoughts.

turn it into a poem or sit there and write everything that is bothering you and when your done tear it to shreds and those problems seem to die down to a more controllable size

Hi. I am sorry that you are feeling so bad right now. You will find many people here who can relate!

You already took a first GREAT step by asking for help here! I know how hard that is.

I have been on this mental health journey for a long time. Here are a few things that I have learned:

Depression /Anxiety are treatable. There is hope!

There are no quick fixes. It is a long term project (and we are totally worth it)!

I need help from professionals. Psychiatrists, therapists, etc.

I need support from friends, a support group, an online forum, etc.

Depressive /Anxious episodes come and go.

Exercise helps me. Going to an exercise class is the most helpful.

There are effective techniques that I can use when I am having an especially bad time. (Distraction, guided meditation, Tapping, breathing, etc.)

Giving myself credit for simply having survived up until now is important. I, and all of us are incredibly brave and strong!
