So living with depression is overwhelming. I usually walk/jog every day to deal with it. Today the most loving thing I could do for myself was to not run or walk, but just after shopping at Walmart, I bought some icy hot and some relaxing tea and my favorite dark chocolate. I did what needed to be done and then I put on my icy hot, put on a mud mask, put conditioner in my hair, ate some chocolate and am drinking warm tea. It sounds really simple, but with such horrible depression there little things are like a million dollars. Can anyone else relate. Much love to all who are living with depression and anxiety.!!

That sounds so relaxing!! I do that too. Have a facial and put on fuzzy pj's and I'm in heaven.
Yes!! me time is essential! Today I was alone at home, I colored my hair and then I sat and drew and painted while listening to inspirational talks and music. It was so nice! Some carefree me time! its great therapy!
Yes, for me sometimes it is just a cup of peppermint tea and listening to music.
We all deserve a little treat now and again. By that I mean the little things, some that just makes you sigh with a bit of happiness and bliss. Those little things all help to reduce stress.
I am in charge of my son’s birthday party and I am so sick with what seems like pink eye and bronchitis. Going to doc today.
So I really could use me time, extra self care, but I have so much to do. I guess I’ll do less than I normally would and hopefully I’ll get some help. It just sucks when the place is a mess and people are coming over.
I think I’ll put on a face mask and read poetry.

Hi heavenly.... and welcome to a great group of folks. I love your ideas of self care!!! When I get so depressed that I can't take care of myself I feel embarrassed when I have to go to work. I typically love to wear autumn colors and take extra time to do my hair.....but when I'm too tired to function my go tos are a pair of jeans a top and a sweater and a pony tail.
Sometimes matching outfits for the week or cleaning and organizing a drawer or cabinet helps me. It's that instant gratification thing. Glad u r here. Hugs
