So I almost choked on a piece of candy a bit ago...and now I'm starting to fear eating again. I don't know what to do ..
It's scary and I can't stop thinking about it. I know I am breathing and ok now but just knowing I was choking is scaring me. Any advice to stop thinking on it? I just started eating again too 😕

Honestly maybe you were chewing too slow and thinking to much about it could be like me and think ima choke on this and then literally start choking on it
Hi ashley. Did you talk to anyone when you were in the hospital about the fear of choking? It's pretty awful and painful to choke on food. Scary too. Did they have any useful suggestions?
Was it just the one time? Maybe a doctor could see if there's a physical reason you're choking. Just to know, one way or the other. Stress when you're eating can sure make you more likely to have problems too.
I'm having trouble with food today too. I barely got a half a bottle of Ensure down before my stomach started to rebel. I've been trying to hydrate at least, but that hurts my tummy too.
i was just starting to get over it...then I choked again tonight and scared myself...now I dread the thought of food again 😩. Yes I told them and they just watched me eat which helped bc I knew someone trained could help me if I were to choke there. And again, I was ALONE when it happened...I just gave my dad rest of candy and came to my bed shaking.. I want to get past this and be able to eat without worrying like I used to
I was hoping there'd be some aftercare, or at least support meetings. You shouldn't have to go it alone. Is there someone for you to ask about support? Before you lose the progress you've made?
i managed to eat a good bit today 😀. I had 2 plates full of scrambled eggs this morning and ate some mini pancakes and had some crackers. Now for dinner soon, which is usually the hardest meal for me for some reason
