This happens to me every night. Nights always seem to be the worst. I usually just wait it out or take something to sleep. I know what it is and there's really nothing I can do about it. I hope you find some comfort somehow, I know anxiety is hell!

I would usually take deep breaths and that helped

Nocturnal panic attacks are really the pits!

Unless you do something to address your overall levels of anxiety, they will continue to occur. The reason is that your brain is not distracted by events of the day and has time to do anxiety when it should be resting and rebuilding for the next day.

As the number of attacks mount up, so does your sleep deficit which affects your functioning during the day.

I had to accept doctor's advice that I need sleep more than letting anxiety rule the night so filled a prescription. I take Mirtazepine at night for it's sedating affects, supported by Temazepam when I need a knock out effect.

Try going to sleep with relaxing music playing or sounds of nature water running something that is relaxing to occupy your mind
