Abilify vs. Latuda

Any advice based on experience?

I think Abilify makes me feel edgy/irritable.

I have not tried latuda.

So far nothing is giving me any relief from this depression.

Something will work for you, sadly it takes some time to try different medications. There is something that will help you. try to focus on little wins you have through the day.

im on abilify and i have depressive symptoms such as irritability sometimes

i take suppliments to curb the depressive illness such as b complex vitamins and vitamin d3 every day. i have noticed a big change when i take the vitamins with abilify 20mg versus when i just take abilify alone.

i take b vitamins because im vegetarian though. st johns wort also works but its strong and has triggered mania so its not a good long term solution

We all react differently to meds and it can be a trial and error process. I went through a half dozen different meds for depression and then did a psychopharmacological test which used my dna to determine which meds were best suited for me genetically. The test showed that none of the meds I had tried were right for me and I started on one it recommended (Pristiq) which was a different class of meds and it worked. My test was from Genesight and paid for by my insurance. I live in the US and am not sure it it's available in other countries although there are probably other brands available. I also found that meds alone didn't resolve my anxiety/depression and that I also required therapy for it. I found ACT Therapy helpful for the depression.
