Cyan survived a near-death experience, but life wasn't the same anymore. She felt lonely and depressed and suffered from flashbacks, which she discovered was PTSD. Cyan began to go to therapy and found helpful resources to help her cope with PTSD.

"ADAA, The Mighty, additional wellness organizations, and the friendships I gained after my trauma reminded me that many of us are struggling daily to sustain stable lives with the weight of personal past stories on our shoulders," Cyan says.

This is a great story. It shows that continued work and determination can lead us back to a functioning life.

I have PTSD and can relate to this woman's feeling post trauma.

Like her, I kept educating myself with anything I could get my hands on. I have done many types of therapy and have taken on line courses so I can better understand the brain/body connection.

We all have the power but we need to work hard.

Thank you for this post.

It resonated with me too as I keep getting flashbacks from a really bad time but like Cyan, think educating yourself as much as you can about mental health problems really helps, also this forum as being a safe haven where people can talk openly and not feel so alone.
