lifeguards earn respect

i just finished training and i am now a lifeguard my first shift was a 5 hour long shift yesterday.I remember always thinking lifeguards had it easy just sitting in the chair all day just chilling but nope i had no clue how mentally draining this job is.you have to constantly be alert and watching knowing that you could be the only chance someone will survive.I have a lot more respect for lifeguards now-

Way to go! I used to be a lifeguard. I know first hand what it takes to get there. Hats off to you! And there is usually great comradery with the other guards. I've done a lot of jobs since then. But I think, in those times, I had the best colleagues and the best bosses. Congrats again. I know you worked hard to get there. Mentally and physically.
