So I think I have awful flu, body aches feeling sick the lot!😭 my baby is really congested and struggling too. I’m going into a flat panic that I have to look after him while barely being able to move😩 I feel like the worst mum and I don’t know what to do, also this flu just doesn’t seem to be shifting

Jayde_96, this is one of the hardest things about being a mother and that is

when you are sick along with your baby. Mothers can't take a day off., They are

always "on call" 24/7.

It is one of the reasons that I believe mothers have anxiety/panic.

Since it doesn't seem to have gotten better, have you called your doctor?

Are either of you on medication (prescribed or over the counter)?

Is there someone who you can call? Maybe to bring you comfort in a hot bowl

of soup.

I hope that you and baby heal soon. You are a good mother, never forget that. :) xx

That's it all you can do as a mother is do your best with what you have available.

oh thank you, yeah my partner is taking time off work to help but the baby only settles with me which makes it harder, and the baby was seen by the doctor they said he’s okay just rest and fluids he’s just got the most awful cough and there’s nothing I can do😭 I’ve just been taking lots of pain killers but they are now making me sick lol

Dearest Jayde, I'm glad the baby has been seen by the doctor. I know how frightening

Oops.. sorry Jayde, I just noticed that I didn't complete my sentence.

Now I can't remember what I was going to say. But...I do wish both you

and baby well soon. :) xx

Ahh I know what you mean I have been in bed since last Friday and I'm starting to feel better but still been having problems with my ear so a nurse is ringing me tomorrow. It's awful when you can't look after yourself so I really feel for you ❤️. Cant someone come and help with the baby while you get better and rest x

A mom's job is never-ending. I wish I had an easy answer. Just do the best you can. That's all you can do. Maybe you can just co-sleep with the baby until both of you are better.

lifting you in prayer may you both feel better real soon. Lots of lemon and honey in boiled water, cough drops, and just try to rest. Deep breathing exercises too tend to help. 🙏🏻
