Lots of things affect cholesterol. I would ask what you are putting that salt on. A little elevated is totally controllable. Know from experience.
I added salt to everything I ate. I now do not use salt since my blood pressure has been elevated. Im doing ok with it now. Hopefully your cholesterol will be better. Most food have their own sugars in them.
I think it's great that the medical profession has finally decided to check cholesterol levels in young people. Years ago they never did this.
Some of these elevations can be from genetics. Talk to your care team about their thoughts.
Healthy diet and excise are the way to go.

Hi Ashley, You adrenals like salt but your kidneys control the levels. You should watch John Bergman's videos on You Tube. He also explains cholesterol. Hypothyroid people use more cholesterol because the adrenals need it to make hormones and that is what is used. We also need more progesterone and magnesium in the process. However if LDL is high watch out for trans fats.
