CELEBRATE ALL BABY STEPS IN A FASHIONABLE WAY
In life, we all do aspire to great achievements. This is good. But for some if not most of us, irrespective of the pure motive we seem to be achieving but little. These baby steps which can even be consumed by our grand quest, mean a lot when placed in perspective. Although an assumption, it is highly improbable that any human has escaped questioning what better they could have been compared to where they stand in life. This is a black hole in the world of joy, peace, and happiness.
Consider those who have passed the baton of life to us. With much-celebrated achievements, we find them without the absence of such faults and failings. They too, but not a few times wished they had it right earlier, happy, happier, or happiest. In economics, human wants have earned the designation of insatiability. This principle permeates all aspects of our lives. From simple things like our choice of clothes, food, house, and apartment to complex things like our choice of friends, emotional gratification, looks and body weight, mindset, moods, and so on (the grading here is not universal). Nevertheless, we sometimes find ourselves in life's maze jungle that we cannot but help to search tirelessly for a breakout. For example, a person suffering from paralysis, bullying, discrimination, emotional and physical assault even in matrimony, helplessness, insomnia, hereditary ailment, and such like cannot keep still but hope for comfort and peace in the haven of restoration.
We all do fall into one of the varied categories irrespective of our personality—choleric, sanguine, melancholy, and phlegmatic., and may have been hurt like Katie Piper resulting in a series of surgical treatments, disfigured face (or mindset), or unfortunately born with a (physical)disability like Carrie Burnell having no right forearm and severe dyslexia, or paralyzed like Stephen Hawking from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ASL), or blind and, paranoid schizophrenia-like Andrea Broccelli and, John Nash respectively. These fought, celebrating each baby step till they became a mother of two daughters, renowned children’s author, theoretical physicist, classical tenor singer, and, a Nobel prize mathematician amongst others respectively.
Against the aforementioned, I dare to say, it is criminal to give up or surrender in the battle of whatever our challenges may be. It will sometimes be difficult doubtless. But, when I am broken, I have learned to remind myself that “a gloomy face solves no half a problem” and “a merry heart does good like a medicine”. I therefore do and say, celebrate your progressive steps, even baby steps and you shall get daily relief and win your battle with depression.
Success!
Excel with grace.
