Dolphin14 in reply to

Yes, that's a big cut down for me. I drank about double that not too long ago. I love the taste.

Strong black coffee

in reply toDolphin14

Did you sleep much?

Dolphin14 profile image
Dolphin14 in reply to

It never interfered with my sleep although many people kept telling me it did. I think it's the go to answer... oh you drink that much coffee that's why you don't sleep. That's true for some but not the case for me. My niece is the same way.

in reply toDolphin14

Fair enough... Not sure id sleep to much 😅

Depends where and when. Tea at home, coffee in a cafe. I'm very fussy , can't stand instant coffee, only have it without milk, unless it's a latte or cappucino. I always have tea at breakfast. And always make it myself🤗

Coffee as it actually is 🤣
in reply toMadBunny

The fussiness is strong in this one! 😅

Oh yes 😁🤗

Oh I forgot- its got to be 'proper' tea with milk, none of your herbal or fruit teas 😝🤗

I think you should add your country and the number of cups. Black freshly ground pour over coffee. 1 large cup.

Cold brew tea is good in the summer. In the fall I get into hot tea then I’m good for the winter.

in reply toBlueruth

In my country people drink more tea than coffee, i like tea best, but coffe is nice too.

uk? Definitely. The us had terrible coffee until relatively recent. I got into coffee without sugar working at Starbucks before they were famous. Massachusetts still has terrible coffee. I have a whole setup to grind and make my own coffee when I go there. It would be easier if I like tea in the morning but coffee is my jam.

Doesn’t the taste of coffee have something to do with the water? I’ve bought expensive pots and coffee and it still tastes like crap. Had some coffee made in a keurig with filtered water at a friend’s and it was delicious.

Blueruth profile image
Blueruth in reply toIsinatra

water, beans, maker, grind. All of it. Expensive makers aren’t great if you buy ground coffee that’s old. Temperature that is too cold is bad too. I actually don’t pay much attention to water but I do buy good beans and have a chemex which is cleaner than a French press. I think kuereg is weak. That’s why it isn’t bitter but there isn’t much flavor. Find a place that serves single cup pour over coffee. Get a mild pastry, nothing too sweet, and enjoy :)

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply toBlueruth

Goodness….lol 🤔 All that for one cup of the nectar of the gods. I’ll go for the pastry if it’s French. oooo La La

Blueruth profile image
Blueruth in reply toIsinatra

There is a message. I often talk about starting a “habit” or “ritual “ for stress. Something that you develop over time but is special to you. You don’t wait until you are in crisis. That is mine. When I had come out of the hospital I bought store muffins and would brew coffee in a machine. From DBT I started to appreciate the taste and warmth of the mug. Over time I got more into the craft and healthy breakfast. So today it is a habit. I don’t think about whether I should. I just do. Even when I have to get up at 5 I include at least 15 min to sit with my coffee. It really helps set me off to a good start. It makes complete sense that it is an extremely mild psychoactive.

Isinatra profile image
Isinatra in reply toBlueruth

I understand the advantages of having rituals that can de-stress. My coffee ritual in the morning is one, also. During the day, just the act and idea of the ritual is somewhat comforting, but not as effective as in the morning. I do have other things, though, to help me cope during the day/night. Just as you have your other ways of coping. Habits, rituals, coping mechanisms……they all count. But for me, too much coffee can have a detrimental effect. There’s nothing like the first cup.

Blueruth profile image
Blueruth in reply toIsinatra

diminishing returns for sure. I have one mug except on rare occasions.

It only happens on posts, not on pms .Or my e mail and SMS .I reported it and they said to update my OS but it has been, and they also suggested turning off my predictive text. It cant be my phone if others have problems and its only on posts.

Blueruth profile image
Blueruth in reply toMadBunny

predictive text needs a flush sometimes so clear it and start over. You don’t have to turn it off. Machine learning isn’t quite perfect yet.

Dear MorningParade,

I drink Both, normally Coffee in the Morning but- just to confuse the Issue- also at night. Tea I will often drink when Visiting, less chance of then 'Mucking It Up' (though I have 'endured' many Awful Cuppas). I make 'Real' Coffee at home, mostly from a Cafetiere- I used to have an Old Electric Percolator, but the 'Glass Dome' broke (a pity, I had had it some years, bought Second Hand to begin with.)

I do however Enjoy a Decent Cup Of Tea, on occasion, it can be quite refreshing.

I occasionally drink Hot Chocolate, again mainly at night (Hot Chocolate for Breakfast.....Yuck!) 'Once Of Never' I might have a Fruit Tea- I prefer Lady Grey, to Earl Grey, if I have a - very 'Floral' one. (If you have never tried 'Chinese Jasmin Tea' then do.)

As I said, I am mainly a Coffee man and like to make my 'own' Mixes, a bit anyway.

This has Raised some 'Interesting' Answers, maybe we can ask Other 'Things'....Types, and Flavours, of Sandwiches.... perhaps? or Hairstyles, Cars, Pets and so forth.

I'm going away, for two weeks..... NOT taking the Computer.

AndrewT

in reply toAndrewT

Enjoy your 2 weeks away and dont drink to much!

Coffee, most definitely. Caffiene is an integral part of my chemical coping process! Over the years, through dilligent and methodical experimentation, I have found the perfect combination of caffiene, nicotine, alcohol and THC to get me through the day. Even slight deviations from my daily regimen can have disastrous results lol!

For those of us old enough to remember- and to all tea drinkers -an iconic band 🤗

Tea is good for my anxiety, it has caffeine as well. I used to love coffee but with my anxiety it's too risky. And some teas do wonder for anxiety. Litterary mint tea saves me from panic attacks
