For me yes, for some years I had no understanding of Triggers, my understanding is what sends me into an anxious state of mind into a hightened state, it could be a smell, taste lots of things can do it, words or sounds too.
It was my first step to understanding my mental health, like understaning what was driving me from my unconscious mind.
I started to keep a diary of event that I felt anxious and what I was doing after a while it was obvious, I took the decision that if I am going to be well, something needs to change.

Yes, it's pretty common. Mine was worse around my family of origin because of the trauma of growing up in a dysfunctional, emotional repressive household and being shamed and punished for expressing anger and normal emotions and also being punished for trying to stand up myself.
