Getting of mirtazapine /tinnitus

I am slowly weaning myself of Mirtazapine but maintaining my sleep ,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience of the T volume dropping off once the mirtazapine has been stopped completely.

If so how long after completely stopping was there a change in volume please ?

How are you weaning yourself off Mirtazipine by cutting the pill in half or quarter, yourself or recommended by doctor/therapist?

I’ve reduced my daily pill by halving it.

I have been on Mirtazapine 7.5 mg for sleepless caused by tinnitus.

I have been weaning myself of it ever so slowly

I have a 30 ml measuring glass.I fill it with 30ml water and let the half tablet dissolve thoroughly. I can see if it is totally in suspension and then stir with a teaspoon

I have a 5ml syringe and suck out my progressive amount .I was doing 1ml per week .I didnt want rebound indomnia so am going down very slowly and still sleeping

At present I am sucking out 20ml with the syringe and drinking the remaining 10 ml

Is it helping your condition, how long have you been on Mirt & when did you start reducing ?

My condition has stabilised & want to return to natural sleeping so reducing Mirt gradually. It sounds like your dose is very small & still getting sleep.

I had a really rough time last year with insomnia

I started taking it in January of this year

I dont want to take the chance of it happening again therefore my ultra careful attending to weaning myself off it

I am hoping that my tinnitus gets less bothersome when I no longer take mertazapine

I seems to be more intrusive in the last few weeks

Tinnutus doesnt follow a rule book
