Losing track of weight loss goal

Has anyone been on a great weight loss track and it just collapsed? If so, what did you do about it?

Sad to say an old trauma came back into my life this week which has really thrown off my confidence. Just stuck in the past over what someone did to me years ago, but it was my fault. I pray this feeling to go away again. I was doing real good for the past five years. it is crazy how this feeling came when I had my best workout week ever to now gaining weight. I wonder if it is the devil trying to block me.

Oh please. It’s not the devil, you’re just eating a little too much. Try eating more fruit and vegetables and watch your portion sizes. And exercise. There’s always tomorrow!!!

I understand. I’m trying to lose 30 pounds myself. It’s all gone to my stomach. It’s not easy to lose weight, especially as you get older. But it can be done.

Your weight loss journey isn’t a smooth hill. It looks more like the stock market. A week doesn’t matter. It is the long game. I have my own journey and when I travel I do pretty well until the end. Im thinking about going home and I can no longer plan effectively. What matters is eating healthy again. If all you do today is eat an apple then that’s okay. I really like the book atomic habits by James clear. You might too.

In 2021 I had enough and I started self medicating with ice cream…the worst kind. It was horrible. I quit but it took a good two months before I stopped craving it and then I had to lose the excess. In that case I got help with a weight loss app. It is okay to seek help too.

Noom is actually pretty good. They use education and psychology instead of restrictive diet. I never thought weighing myself every day would be useful but it actually has been. I have gone up several pounds for no discernible reason and the dropped pounds. There are so many factors beyond food intake.

Yes, I heard about Noom. But I thought about going back to Nutrisystem.

Isn’t that a specific unsustainable diet? Do the trial. When you have a bad episode you need some sort way to be resilient. That’s what Noom teaches.

I did Nurtisystem before and it worked. That is why I mentioned it. Yes you have to make sure not to go back to bad eating habits.

Of course it does. They are reducing calorie intake and shipping your meals so you don’t have to manage portion control. Are you going to have your meals shipped for the rest of your life or would you rather know how to make your own balanced meals and restaurant choices?
