Feeling really off today. New medication at bedtime which helped me sleep but woke up two hours past my alarm, causing panic immediately. Feeling shaky and paralyzed. When will this stop?

Where you late for something because of it?

Mornings are rough enough without a late start to cause a delay. Nauseated and anxious

Maybe tomorrow things will work out better.

Hi Delta,

What medication is it? Some need to be taken earlier than you think in the evening and not just before bed, to allow them to take effect and wear off in time for you to get ready for work.

Cheers, Midori

It's Mirtazapine. Prescription says to be taken at bedtime. I've been taking an hour ahead, but maybe sooner than that even

Adjust your taking time until you find something which fits your lifestyle, without making you drowsy in the mornings. In UK our police are cracking down even on prescribed medication if it makes you unfit to drive.

You may find that as you adjust to it it will be less dozy inducing as you continue to take it.

I used to find that I had to take my meds with or just after my evening meal. I no longer drive, so I don't have the problem any more.

Cheers, Midori
