Hey HU friends!!

I know it's been awhile but I just saw my medication doctor and he recommended maybe I can try taking my Zoloft and try something called Wellbutrin with it. Is anyone familiar with this or have any personal experiences they have been through and wouldn't mind sharing? I am just wanting to see how it made y'all feel :)

Thank you in advance! I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Hi I was on both meds together for a few years . It made a big difference adding the Zoloft with the Wellbutrin. It helped me for a long time. I just switched the Zoloft to a different one that is working better for me right now. Sometimes it takes a combination to work. Good luck

Thank you so much for your response!!! Did you notice any side effects you experienced with mixing them? I am on it because my Zoloft is making me so hungry so I've gained weight, Dr said Wellbutrin will help decrease my appetite :)

This is a pretty common combination that drs. try if one anti-depressant by itself isn't working, combining an SSRI (Zoloft) with a "non-typical" (meaning it is in its own class) AD like Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is an "activating" anti-depressant meaning the main side effects are usually disturbed sleep and anxiety in some people; side effects disappear in many people after a few weeks. Also Wellbutrin can raise your blood pressure. I tried this combination several years ago ; was on it for several weeks and doing OK except it started raising my blood pressure which is high anyway so I had to go off. Give it a try; it works for many people, just be aware of the possible side effects.

Hey!

I had Wellbutrin added to my anti anxiety medication last year (escitalopram).

I found the first day I took it I was very perky and the next day I was emotional. I just had to remind myself I was trying a new medication. The mood swings only lasted for a week but got gradually less extreme everyday. After a few weeks I had higher energy levels and was able to get more done in the day. I also found that the dread I felt in the morning went away faster. It usually took all day to dissipate but changed to only being an hour then eventually barely there.

I’ve been on it for about a year and a half. I hope it helps! I haven’t noticed any side effects since the mood swings at the beginning. No weight gain and I found that I had more energy to exercise.
