Weening off medication

Hello,

I have been on 20mg of celexa for a year now. Feeling so much better and feel like I can do without. This past week I’ve been doing 10mg and then 20mg every other day. Slowly weening off. Does anyone have experience with this? Does it make anxiety symptoms come back? Or any other symptoms? I feel like I have foggy brain and a little anxiety. Just wanna know other people’s thoughts.

Are you working with a doctor to wean off your medication? Sometimes it can be problematic.

Hi Willow-Dawn, no matter what drug you have been on, it should be weaned

only under the guidance of your doctor. Yes symptoms will break through but

depending on the proper way of weaning will make the difference in the intensity

of the withdrawal. It's all about staying safe and your doctor would be the best

judge in doing that. I wish you my best. I went through it myself and it was

the best decision ever for me. I wish the same for you. :) xx

Thank you!

You may have hic-ups although it seems you are doing ok in general., Regards coming of your medication. Sometimes support will help if you get stuck, You are following the advice of your Doctor, fine, good luck

Honestly, be very careful what you wish for, if you continue doing this get support from a doctor, it may not be that easy and you may end up worse than when you first became depressed. It's great what your doing but just saying, be careful.
