Is anyone taking Amitriptyline for depression and anxiety

? What dose was effective for you? I am on 20 mg but its not helping at all.

I was on it for years at 75mg - 100mg daily. Then 50mg as a maintenance dose. The Priory Clinic wanted me to take 150mg a day but I declined. I would say that from my experience10mg is not an effective dose for anxiety and depression, that is only an effective dose when using it for nerve pain.

David, show your doctor the information leaflet that came with you amitriptyline and show him the recommended dosage for anxiety/disorder which are in the order of 2 or 3 x25mg tablets daily. Incidentally, I found this med very effective though after a couple of years its effectiveness wore off.
