I gave escitalopram a really good go, 5 months, but it didn’t help at all and still had restless legs/agitation but not as much….

I’m currently trying to give meds longer as I did it all wrong before……. I’m in my 5th week on sertraline just upped to 100mgs but constantly restless and twitchy and can’t sit still. It is just as bad as having anxiety and depression! It has raised my anxiety but I guess I’m expecting that but did anyone have this and it went away?? I’m so desperate to feel steady again and feeling constantly agitated doesn’t make me relaxed at all. Happy to continue and out your with it but does it go??

Hi. I have RLS too and it is Pure Torture. My sincerest condolences. I have many natural remedies I have gone through in the past that I'm happy to share with you if you'd like.

I'm on the Neupro patch, which is a dopamine agonist. I've never heard of Cipralex being used for it. Depression yes, but not RLS. One thing I will tell you though (and take this with a grain of salt since everyone is different) is that many antidepressants can worsen RLS.

Hey Vicss I am on sertraline. It takes a while for it to balance out but it will. My anxiety got much worse for 2 weeks after I started and I was about right after 6weeks. If you’ve had it upped within that period then you probably still don’t have it balanced in your system yet. When I had mine upped (after 10weeks) I had about 3-4 days where it got worse again, but it should stabilise. If it doesn’t then maybe sertraline isn’t for you. Just don’t forget to take it everyday, if I miss one I do feel unbalanced again. Apparently the restless leg is part of the anxiety and fight/flight, it’s the blood rushing to your legs so you can run faster. I’ve always had restless leg and only now I realise this is why. Have to consciously stop it happening.

I think I’m just panicking because it’s been nearly 6 weeks on Tuesday and I still feel more tense, anxious and panicky and low and no signs of it reducing. It is hard to get through the days and I’m just waiting to have windows of feeling more relaxed and normal! I want to be able to relax a little and maybe even squeeze out a laugh…that’s all. I so want it to help as I need it xx thanks for the support. The doc says it is supposed to work really well!! X

Yeah when I had my check up at the doctors after 6weeks he said it was still too early to tell so I had to wait another 4 weeks to re review, and then I was able to have it increased as it wasnt quite optimum. So I am on 100mg now, and it took another 3-4days of being much worse again, which was well timed with an incident at work which set me back! 🤦‍♀️Feeling much better now, and feel I have the right balance now. I do know people who have gone higher, I think you can have up to 200mg

But yeah if I have a moment now I feel I bounce back much quicker. Sometimes I still get the odd symptom creeping through but I am able to control things much better. Believe me, you will get there and it will be worth it to feel positive again x

I hope so I just feel every time I go up it gets worse and worse. Just been to the shops and it’s much harder than it was before. Is that normal? I can’t do anything and when I’m in my own I just feel totally tense all day I thought it was supposed to help a bit more than that. Ok I’ll give it 4 more weeks….lost all my ability to feel and I’m not sleeping now and I was before. Urgh. Sorry I’m panicking x thanks for your help x dying to feel some emotions and actually feel joy x and I can’t cry and that is freaking me out. Will that come back? Xx
