Meditation works for me!
I walk and walk and walk.
I use mindfulness a day (or moment) at a time. There is nothing to fear in this moment. The future is not promised. And it’s not real. It’s just what I think it might be. And I can change my thoughts at this moment and take care of what’s in front of my nose. I don’t have to spend my time waiting for the other shoe to drop if I’m in the now.
Meditation also helps (as has been mentioned).
But I also take advantage of professional help and prescribed meds.
Keep posting. We’re here for you.
Hi so I have had anxiety for years and I know how tough it can be to go through some things that help me to calm my anxiety down is putting a relaxing sound on my phone and closing my eyes and breathing in and out and another thing I do is I close my eyes and say positive things about myself I hope that these might be helpful for you.
Hi Cm40, over the years, I researched and tried different avenues to calm my anxietyas well as Agoraphobia I never gave up and never once believed I wouldn't beat it.
Started with Relaxation Meditation and Self-Hypnosis to Biofeedback, Mindfulness,
Affirmations, BrainWashing and more. *YouTube is my "go to"
Since it takes time, at least 30 days of daily Meditation for your mind to be retrained,
I did it faithfully until I got the right combination of tools that I responded to.
I started with a tape from my therapist and built on that.
When I was at my worse, I'd walk around first thing in the morning listening to the
tape she gave me over and over while I got ready for the day. It seemed to block out
any negative thoughts and fears since my mind couldn't listen to two things at a time.
Since that wasn't completely working in that I felt hooked to my tape recorder, I found
that Meditation and Breathing first thing upon awakening (20 min) could provide the same benefits if not more. It started me off on a positive step. I would also add another 5-10 min
meditation/breathing mid afternoon to calm the events of the day. And finally, before bed,
I would do my last Meditation/Breathing before falling asleep.
I've been doing this for years now...my mind has accepted positive thoughts to the subconscious mind w/o a struggle now. If the day gets stressful, I start my breathing,
relax my shoulders and I am once again in command of my life.
I have beaten anxiety by taking back control of it's mind game. I am now here to pay it forward to others in gratitude. Anything you try you must believe in it or it may not work.
Believe in yourself and the power of your mind. My best to you xx
