Hi everyone. I’m new to this group, but I’ve been dealing with anxiety all my life. I was diagnosed with celiac disease last year so it was even more pressure for me. I’ve been taking Lexapro on and off for the past one year. I do experience buzzing in my ears. Don’t know if it’s related to my celiac or Lexapro side effects. Does anyone had this symptom?
Thank you,
Saba

For me, it's like someone flips a switch and all other sounds leave and the ringing starts. It lasts from seconds to a minute. I've never thought of it being connected to the Lexapro. I always thought it was connected to listening to music at a higher volume through earbuds. I'm currently on 20mg. I've been on Lexapro for 10+ years.
Yeah, it sure is. My psychiatrist and I tried weaning me off 4 different times. I got severely depressed all 4 times and ended up back at 20mg again. Vision is fine.
I've asked others if they had trouble weaning off as well. They had. They said that this drug needs to be weaned off of very very slowly -- much slower than doctors realize.
Yikes! I'm so sorry to hear this. I also got really close to succeeding (down to 5mg from 20mg), but had to go back up because I got dangerously depressed.
Seems like we’re in exactly the same boat! I’ve absorbed the defeat, but now I worry constantly whether I’ll always be able to get my pills (war, power outages?) because evidently my life is in danger without them. How about you? Do you worry about that sort of thing?
I had that when I first started taking it. After taking it regularly every day it went away. Maybe taking it on and off is making it worse?
I was on it for over a year with Wellbutrin. It was great for my anxiety but eventually made my depression worse. I went up to 20mg of Lex and everything was instantly worse. I've now been on Celexa for 3 weeks and things are much better.
Wow. I never put it together until now. Yes...I have ringing in my ears and have been on lexapro for 4 years. I don't notice it most of the time, but it is there.
