Hi excited to meet all of you ! Ive been experiencing horrible anxiety that been effecting me for awhile but worse in the recent days. I just feel like im always thinking about something and it effects my social life with friends and family. Any one recommend any meditations or how they get there mind to think of other things ?

Hi slateparker, I'd like to Welcome you to an understanding support site.I found after being Agoraphobic for 5 years, that Meditation as well as Breathing

techniques helped me to take that first step out and more over time.

Do a check list of your thoughts. What are you thinking about? Does it help to

ruminate over and over again? If the answer is No, then it's time to try something

different. We can't expect change if we do the same thing over and over.

That's exactly what I was doing. Fear begetting fear but expecting a different outcome.

Those thoughts I had were so negative that it was impossible to think straight.

Once I started with Mindfulness, Relaxation, Self-Hypnosis, Affirmations Meditation and

more, My mind thought more rationally. I was able to accept anxiety for what it was, a Lie.

I no longer allowed this bully to control my life. Meditation is a powerful Mind/Body experience. I'm happy you are here with us in taking your first step forward. :) xx

I’m sorry to hear what you’re going through. Are you seeing a therapist/counselor? What are your coping skills? Doing things that you enjoy will surely keep your mind off of your negative feelings. Maybe you can try listening to good music. Physical exercise has the added benefit of helping to relieve negative emotions naturally. I hope you’ll find your way out. Sending hugs your way.
