Topamax

I have been prescribed Topamax for my anxiety and also because I suffer from sever migraines due to a fall. Can anyone else tell me if they’ve used been prescribed Topamax and what I can expect?

How much were you prescribed? I’ve been on for three days and it has t completely alleviated my headaches but it has helped take the edge off. The pain is usually excruciating and I’ve tried everything including neck surgery. I’m on a small dose 25 mgs but I’m fearful of anxiety nothing terrifies me more.

Actually last night I had an episode I cannot explain so I stopped taking it. It made me very uneasy. I’ve of course, researched the medication at I’m a bit fearful of the side effects. Last night I felt shaky. As if I had low blood sugar but I had just eaten. I felt anxious and scared. Very uneasy. And I was extremely hot. I was burning up. I’m going to call the doctor today. I’m not going to take it. I’m too scared.

I tried many things over the years including Topamax. The only migraine med that has ever worked most of the time is Maxalt. I take Valium for anxiety but it is a nightmare to ween off and I may never be able to do it. I have treatment resistant depression which got so much worse after trying TMS for depressions and migraines. Wish I never tried it but others have had great success. Everyone is so different.
