I took it and it didn't do anything for me. My husband took it years ago and said it worked wonders. After researching I found out buproprion interacts with your dopamine while a lot of antidepressants work with your serotonin meaning that if your D is low/the problem this might work but if your S is maybe not so much. This is just my theory based on the internet mind you. I googled low D symptoms & low S symptoms & I had all the low S ones. I have since went on a ssri & that helps a bit. Do your research & talk to your Dr. Good luck! 🌞🌼

We are all different when it comes down to medications, allow five weeks before you make any negative decisions

I am on 60 mg Prozac. That has helped. It didn’t cure me but it lessens the anxiety and panic attacks along with Xanax. I started off at 10 mg and worked my way up to 60. I am on Wellbutrin 300 mg. I started this to help quit smoking. It has lessened the urge to smoke but I am still smoking and I’m not sure if it helps with depression

I take 200mg of Wellbutrin aka Bupropion, and it helped me a little at first, but not so much now. But my doctor even takes it, and I'm sure she wouldn't if it didn't help her, it just goes to show you that we are all different, and you'll just have to give it a try. It also helped me to stop smoking.

I've taken it since 1996, and it has worked for me. Until 2018, it kept my depression at bay. I wasn't crying, but not laughing, either. Then in August, after being evacuated five weeks by the fires in N. California, and some other stresses at the same time, I went over the edge. I was sent to a hospital for treatment. There, they added Abilify to my treatment. That made a huge difference! I no longer recognize the person I was before the Abilify! And, this summer, I had stresses greater than any I've ever had before, and I handled them with normal sad feelings and fears.

If you are on an antidepressant now, perhaps adding Abilify will help. Talk with your doctor. Other replies for you sound good too. Do some research, and make up a list of questions for your doctor.

Hope you find a good fit fir you!

Two weeks in - how are you doing? I'm on 450 per day, with the Abilify, and OK for almost 18 months! Praying you have great results. Stick with it - It takes a while to see the complete results of the dose you're on.

Goofy and playful are the names of the game! I had thought seriously about suicide twice before I found my sweet spot! Even landed in involuntary custody the last time; that is where they added the Abilify to my therapy. Best thing that ever happened to me. I can now laugh and find the silver lining even when the clouds are very dark, like this last year.

Keep taking your drugs, even when you feel wonderful. They are what is allowing your brain to function like it is supposed to. Just as diabetics need insulin to stay healthy, we need brain chemistry drugs to stay healthy.

I am very fortunate to have an understanding husband. We recently celebrated our 60th anniversary. For about 35 of those years, I was a high-functioning severely depressed wife. He doesn't really get depression, but he gets that I have a problem and wants to help me with my issues.

I'm very glad that you are doing so well. Heady stuff, isn't it?
