Working outside does lift ones spirits but...

Today i set about attacking the garden, and that is a mountainous job to do,the garden is huge and i must admit i let things slide a bit the past two years,.

I have chopped, sawn, dug, replanted and the amount of detritus to get rid of is massive, and i really dont know what to do with it all,the trees and shrubs had grown enormously, and i have enough branches and discarded detritus to fill a truck, and i've only just started.

We have some massive Cordyline which needed digging out and replanting, but they are so tough and deep rooted i found myself just sawing them off,but i am sure they will come to life again in their new abode, they usually do.

However, just being outside and achieving something really is good to lift ones spirits and stops me from overthinking.

Wow! I don’t know if the picture is a before or after, but it sure looks inviting. What you did sounded monumental to me. Good for you! 🫧

Well done you, we are lucky here the council will take our garden rubbish away, we have to pay of course 👍

It does you good to get outside!

Absolutely! A study was done during Covid. My state encouraged being outside and even dropped outdoor mask mandate early. People who had access to parks and spent time outside did not suffer as much depression compared to those that stayed in. Getting vitamin d and clearing out your lungs and just smelling the plants. Really good for you.

Today we enjoyed a picnic in the park instead of going to a cafe like we originally planned which I felt did us good.

The little parks near where I live have really helped me during lockdown even when they were packed whilst everything else closed down.

That was actually one thing they recommended in the study. Access to park is important. I’m really lucky to live in a place with great outdoors.

The open space near me was crowded too. I also took a temp job that required me to be outside in July of that year. Really hot but it was definitely good for my mindset.

Yes, I. bought some oriental poppy plants last week, I hope they grow they are quite difficult to grow apparently, and I love poppies, my roses are just starting to bud now 👍

We are looking forward to having some picnic lunches out over the Easter weekend!

Today myself and my sister in law had a picnic lunch at the Heath park as it was nice instead of going to a cafe as originally planned.

I had my jabs for my new job as well today so we have had a full day.

Baby is well and sends her regards to Prince Pixie!

Compared to elderly Baby being 18 Prince Pixie is just a little kitten at 7 but hubby says he's a funny looking kitten!

We were hoping to get a last minute slot at the lido but they are full over Easter so we will have to wait for that one.

Easter Monday will be a year since my dad died and we are having an early lunch at 11.30 that day to mark the time when he died.

Even though I had expected it it was still a shock though even though I wasn't surprised.

Some people had said to me how i should be happy he had died as he can't be abusive towards me anymore and yes part of me was glad he had died but the other was full of pain over what I had sadly lost out on as well.

Time has helped though and talking things through with great friends.

Good morning,Wow, what a beautiful, and big backyard! I can not even begin to imagine how one person can manage that yard by themselves. Do you have any family or friends that can help you? Or can you hire some help? You do quite an amazing job! My backyard is full of snow right now and I can say without a doubt that my yard is nothing but a drop in the bucket compared to your yard. Keep up the wonderful job! ...maybe you can hire a landscaper to come in and help you make a plan?

Here's my backyard right now:

I do not know what happened but JkBrauer and kbrauer I am one in the same person, Lol, go figure!

Thank you so much, but no i have no family to help me,and prefer to do everything myself, and certainly would'nt need a landscaper as i'm sure they could'nt improve on what i've already done, gardening is my passion.
