Unusual for me, but i feel wretched.

I always shrug off any health problems but today i feel terrible.

I have a half acre garden, and i know I've been overdoing things, digging, planting, moving heavy concrete slabs around and today its caught up with me, and i really felt I was finished and on the way out.

My shoulder which i smashed 2 years ago is really giving me gyp.

I seem to have lost all coordination in my movements and feel very weak.😭

I am due to see my doctor on the 13th September, so i hope i can hold out until then.

I have lost my appetite and just feel totally washed out.

I will do no work for a few days and just hope i get back to feeling normal ish.πŸ˜•

Hi secrets

That's a lot of work you've done especially if your shoulder is more vulnerable. I'm sorry to read that you're struggling.

A wise decision to take it easy and I hope you feel better from the rest

Between you and me I have planned to have some quiet time this weekend after a hectic week of interviews along with some delicious lie ins tomorrow and Sunday!

Today was an interview in Newport and I made it into a day out and went to the Belle Vue park near the Royal Gwent hospital which I enjoyed and then to the interview and on into town as I did my job applications nice and early this morning so after the interview the rest of the day was mine so went into town and got some turnips off the greengrocers there which I am having for dinner and a steak dinner at Fridays which I really enjoyed as I haven't done that for ages!

I learned a lesson back in 2017 when I had blood clots in the lungs not to ignore it when you feel run down as I did for ages and ended up seriously ill as a result and in a and e but feel it's a good thing as it took me away from a lifestyle I never wanted to have achieved in the first place and about putting health top of the pops in the list of priorities!

I walked into a and e seriously ill and one of my friends said how did you manage to walk into a and e seriously ill?

My brother who is 40 ended up with adult onset diabetes and I wasn't surprised as he had a sugar addiction which never got addressed as one Christmas when he was 13 he ate a whole box of Roses chocolates in one sitting and got told off for being greedy!

Takes one to know one in regard to greedy!

I feel sorry for my brother getting things given without any effort as its not good for you!

On weekdays I get up around 6.30am and get started on things to do for the day like job applications and French!

This morning I decided I will pop the washing on nice and early, get it hung out outside early and once it's done it's done and then back to bed!

secrets22 profile image
secrets22β€’ in reply toTurnipgirl

Oh i'm with you, nothing like hanging the washing outside I don't understand people who always dry their clothes indoors. ?

Turnipgirl profile image
Turnipgirlβ€’ in reply tosecrets22

At the old place us and the front flat received a telling off for putting our clothes out to dry in the yard there and I told the letting agent not to be so ridiculous and how I have more sense than money and don't waste it when it isn't warranted!

I find putting the dryer on when it's dry outside even in the winter isn't warranted and just wastes money!

If it's really bad weather then fair enough I will put the dryer on!

I had comforted the people in the front flat when I had found them bawling in the hall after they had received that eviction notice back in the July of 2022 even though we had received one as well but hadn't been surprised as I had seen that one coming for ages and I had said that more than likely there was a mistake on the notice but not to say anything to string them along!

How right I was as yes there had been mistakes on the notices as in the November of 2022 I received a letter saying that the July notice had been withdrawn as it was invalid and court had thrown it out and they were sending me a new one to leave in the January of 2023!

In the March of 2023 I received court papers and looked through them and found loads of mistakes but never said anything to string them along and it was the Saturday of mothers day weekend when I got a letter from court saying that yes the court papers were messed up and Judge had organised a hearing for the Tuesday after Easter at the county court so I had support at court and someone to explain things rather than receiving a possession order at home on my own saying I was to leave in 14 days that Saturday afternoon without anyone to talk to and getting worried over it!

They have relet those flats for Β£950pcm and when I was there it was Β£560pcm and the block is up for sale for Β£750000!

I thank my lucky stars I'm not there anymore!

Thursday just gone when I went to that interview and they were making people wait for 30 minutes after their agreed time by accident when they did that it was a good turn as they stopped me from making a big mistake and I was right to have left and not put up with it!

One of my friends reckoned the job on Thursday had unofficially gone before anyone had their interviews which was why they had made myself and that girl that had waited ages wait!

Here everyone puts their washing out to dry when it's sunny but not when it isn't and in the winter!

Hi good for you!Looking for a job is a full time job isn't it? I remember well after I was made redundant 9 yrs ago.

Good you have built in some down time and are enjoying some treats. Otherwise job hunting becomes pretty onerous.

Turnipgirl profile image
Turnipgirlβ€’ in reply togettingsomewhere

I know job hunting can get a bit much can't it if you're not careful?

Had a lovely morning in this morning and had that planned lie in and didn't get dressed until 10.30am and the world didn't end and had a lovely ice cream treat off the ice cream van that comes round the streets!

The washing has all been done and dried outside and put away so that's a great job done and dusted!

Up here there isn't the ridiculous noise level that there was at the other place and there's been no need to stamp on the floor or bang a broom on it to shut downstairs up here!

When I took to the ceiling and banged that broom on it I did it because I had had enough of the ridiculous noise from upstairs that had been going on for ages and that afternoon was the last straw when I banged the ceiling in temper!

If they had been polite and said in advance there was going to be a party and it was only now and again I would have had a completely different reaction to it and wouldn't have minded but ridiculous levels of noise all the time gets a bit much which was why I banged the ceiling with a broom!

Say if I had banged over a party now and again that would have been mean and petty or banging over everyday noise!

I have been called mean many times by selfish people when I wouldn't give them their own way over things which is rubbish as mean is when you begrudge little things say if I had begrudged an occasional party then yes that's mean and banged over that or banged over everyday living noises then that's mean but banging because you have put up with ridiculous noise for ages and you have had enough isn't mean and petty nor is not giving selfish people their own way!

Here's another example of what really is mean at a previous job they would make people come back to work if they had a 2pm interview when you could leave at 3pm for the day which is the optimum definition of mean as its childish and petty!

Another one is making someone come back to work after a morning interview just for an hour after they have booked an afternoon off which is what happened with me at a place when they said after I had made a fuss yes I could have the afternoon off after my interview at 10 that morning but I was to come to work after the interview and could leave at 1.30pm and I got to the offices after the interview at 12.30pm after the interview and got told off for having kicked up a fuss about not getting the time off I had wanted and the director had intervened and had made them give me the time off as it was available and there was no good reason why it couldn't have been given to me!

Looking back that was pathetic making me go in just for that hour as if they had said OK make the hour up when you come back to work another time and let me have the requested time off after that interview I wouldn't have minded doing that for them!

If the afternoon had really been unavailable I could have accepted that as that's fair enough!

What it was that upset me was their attitudes and being unfair over things when there was no need for it!

Another mean incident was with one of my friends at the pharmacy when she was leaving there they had made her go there to work for an hour before letting her leave which also was pathetic and mean!

I thank my lucky stars I'm not at those jobs anymore as I couldn't stand their attitudes!

You've had some lucky escapes by the sounds of it turnip. Hope you find not only a good job but great working conditions as well.

For me it was a huge shock to have to sign on in my late fifties after 25 years work for the council, my work coach was a miserable ole bat, around my age actually(!) No sympathy at all and I cried after the first appointment.

But then I went selfemployed until retirement age which was a whole lot better!

You'll get there!

Turnipgirl profile image
Turnipgirlβ€’ in reply togettingsomewhere

Thankfully with me I get along really well with my work coach which helps!

One thing I hated was going to sign on every week for the first 13 weeks as it felt intrusive but I'm fine with now it being every 2 weeks and they are always pleased with me!

I was really cross though back in April when I got shouted at at that care home and it felt like the world had ended going to sign on but no it hasn't and now I feel by accident when she did that it was a good turn as she stopped me from getting burnt out doing those ridiculous 12 hour shifts there but I'm not saying I think it's right to bully though!

The petty little things like the breakfast trays I could have ignored and lived with those but getting shouted at when I had done nothing wrong in my view wasn't on and thankfully I could leave immediately and there wasn't a thing they could do about it either!

If I had hit a resident then yes that would have warranted getting shouted at or shouted and sworn at them but that wasn't very nice when I had done nothing wrong!

At those health service jobs one friend there said how their nasty attitudes over things like making me go there for that poxy hour which was childish and petty were unnecessary and how there was no call for it!

If I was manager I would have let the staff member have the rest of the day off after their interview if it was available and say work the afternoon back when you come back to work.

If they had said that to me I wouldn't have minded doing that for them and maybe I would have stayed working there but it's their loss at the end of it all!

Like my mate said there's no call for all that nastiness!

That's it isn't it feeling run down sneaks up on you over time!

You don't realise how run down you are getting do you until it's too late!

Here I have planned some nice delicious lie ins for tomorrow and Sunday and don't plan to do a lot and it's outdoor swimming at the lido on Monday which I am really looking forward to and then interviewing on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as well!

Today after my interview we went into town to the Fridays restaurant there and indulged in a delicious steak dinner which I haven't done for ages and really enjoyed it and called at the greengrocers for some white turnips as well!

Good news as I have been invited to a dogs 5th birthday party as Poppy the very spoilt beagle is 5 in a couple of weeks time and has invited me to her birthday party which is something to look forward to!

Last week in Newport Poppy's mother got a stack of fruit and veg from the greengrocers when I did and said they were all for Poppy as Poppy enjoys her fresh fruit and veg!

how lovely to go to Poppy's birthday party, sounds a delight.

I love getting invited out to things even if I can't always go!

Yesterday at first I felt guilty for spending a fortune on a steak dinner but I did and life is still carrying on and the world hasn't ended!

Moving up here wasn't the end of the world as life is still carrying on and a new world has opened up for me!

You sound exhausted and maybe heat exhausted. I have a huge garden too. I now have my right arm back in a brace and sling. Listen to your body, enjoy some ice water, sleep, soak in the tub and then put on a movie and sleep some more. Try to get some protein so your body can heal. Sweet dreams.

Yes i was thoroughly exhausted, and its time to step back a little. Gardens are lovely but they do take an enormous amount of work. Thank you.

I'm sorry you're struggling, not eating will affect your wellbeing, our bodies are like vehicles, they need fuel, but in our case food, good nutrition is essential , I find trying to put a quilt cover on is taking me an eternity, I'm going to get a cleaner in to help me out, I have to admit I feel like I'm ready for the knackers yard, , you need to remember we aren't as strong and it will cause exhortation pretty quickly, don't over do things, and I wish you well!
