So this year started with preparing myself for an open Myomectomy surgery. Surgery went smooth. Now I feel physically okay, but mentally I have this feeling of darkness and impending doom. I had no control over getting the fibroid(tumor) at 26 yrs and eventually I have this feeling of negativity, irritability, tiredness and loss of interest in all the tasks that used to form my day to day activity. WFH and the same room for the past 2 years honestly doesn't help either. I have read about post surgery depression, but staying active (by working, cleaning etc..) is not an option currently due to the incision in the lower abdomen. Any tips from fellow members?

Yeah, unless you have previously been diagnosed with long term depression before your surgery, I would just talk to your doctor and let them know this is happening to you so you can see if this subsides. Sometimes the meds used in surgeries mess with our hormones etcs.
My wife had a cyst the size of a grapefruit removed from her overies in 2007. Fire department had to take her in pain was so bad . Paramedics etc. She shook it off like it was nothing. But she is a very happy person. She is 5 foot 8 and 155.. daily cardio exercise is great. I like breathing exercises and cold showers or baths . Cold water is nature’s antidepressant and Valium. I start at 65 degrees and work colder. I had a major surgery 18 months ago. It was pretty rough see my profile. And I can relate to what you are saying. I didn’t mean to compare you to my wife’s surgery, but i didn’t look up what yours was exactly.
